Trapped in Paradise
Catholic Nuns in the South Pacific 1940-1943
Four Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange were trapped behind enemy lines in the North Solomon Islands at the height of World War II. Trapped in Paradise is a first person account of their travels, of their sometimes uncomfortable efforts to embrace a culture not their own, of the perils of hiding in rugged jungle terrain, and ultimately of their unlikely and high-risk rescue by the U. S. Navy in the midst of a vicious war.
