Bread of Our Lives: Ash Wednesday Retreat

Bread is a form of nourishment for body and soul. Jesus gives himself to us in unconditional love outpoured to sustain us in this life and prepare us for the next. He is a model for our own living today. There is significance of bread as a metaphor and the actual staple for life. Start Lent with a morning of retreat. Come to explore the deeper meaning, reflect, and enjoy Bread as a gift and an invitation for your Lenten journey.

About the Presenters:

Sister Jane DeLisle, CSJ has a diverse background as a Presenter, Spiritual Director, and Administrator. She has been engaged in Spirituality and Sister Formation since 1986. She currently serves as the Director of the Center for Spiritual Development. From 2001 to 2011 she served on the General Leadership of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. Sr. Jane has extensive experience in the Art of Spiritual Direction program, having previously been Executive Director of the Center for Spiritual Development for eight years. She has served as a Spiritual Director since 1989.

Sister Karen Clock is a Sister of St. Joseph of Orange. Her ministries in the past include teaching and counseling as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a graduate of the Art of Spiritual Direction Program and is currently on the staff of the Center for Spiritual Development, where she is engaged in spiritual direction, supervising directors, lectures, and retreats. She considers her primary call to be a companion to those seeking a deeper relationship with God.

Fees and Registration:

This retreat will be offered in-person only. The cost for attending is $30, which includes a light lunch of soup and bread. In order to plan for the meal, registration will end at 4 pm on February 13. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few days of registering, please check your spam / junk mail folder.

All attendees must show proof of vaccination (including boosters, if eligible) and wear a mask inside our chapel. For the other parts of the retreat day, we strongly encourage the use of masks, especially during times of high transmission. Please note that the Covid protocols at St. Joseph Center can change at any moment.
