Welcome to the Heritage Room

Opened in July 2019, our Heritage Room is located in the Welcoming Center at 440 S. Batavia St.

Our Heritage Room shares our stories with the communities we serve for over 100 years. The room displays photos, videos and other artifacts that trace our beginnings in 1650 France, to the arrival of the French sisters to the United States in 1836, and the journey to California in 1912.

Plan your Visit

  • We receive visitors to our Heritage Room from Monday to Friday starting at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm excluding St. Joseph Center Holidays.

  • Self-guided tour booklets are available.

  • For guided tours and more details about visiting our Heritage Room please e-mail Keila Hernandez at khernandez@csjorange.org.

Visitation Guidelines

  • All reservations must be made through e-mail.

  • Phone reservations must be confirmed through e-mail.

  • Group tours only by advanced reservation, 2 weeks in advance if you need a docent.

  • Docents may be available as requested in advance.

  • Large groups must have a docent.  Up to 50 people per group in the Heritage Room. Minimum of 5 people to request a docent tour.

  • Entrance to the Heritage Room MUST be made at the front door of the Welcoming Center.

  • Tours are usually 30 to 60 min.

  • Last tour is at 3:00 PM

  • Your reservation ensures access to the lobby, Heritage Room, and tree area ONLY.  No access to the conference room.

  • Leadership photo wall available ONLY when there are no meetings in session at the conference room.

  • No food/drinks and No smoking in the Welcoming Center and please silence your cell phones.

  • Photographs taken in the Heritage Room are for personal/non-commercial use only, flash is not permitted. If you see a photo that you would like to use for your organization, please contact our Communications Dept.
